We have been shown some scale from a boiler operating with a softener and a product named Advantage 6240 plus,the pressure is about 6 bar.
The scale is dark brown, of low density, the tube side is smooth and shiny, insoluble in dilute hydrochloric acid.
We are puzzled as to the cause, any comments and experiences would be appreciated.
