I apologize for this being off the strict boiler topic, but I'm hoping our problem is similar enough that someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
We're attempting to build a prototype for an R&D project which requires the compression of steam from 140 C/15 psia to 60 psia. For this prototype system, the flow rate is very low - only 10 acfm - though we could conceivably increase this to 100 acfm or higher if necessary.
The compressor manufacturers I have contacted so far either 1) don't work with steam, 2) don't build systems for this low of a flow rate, or 3) can't handle the high temperatures involved.
Could anyone point me to a manufacturer who might deal with this type of problem? (As a side note, high efficiency is critical - but at this point I'd just about settle for anything that will work.)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
