I wish to find out if there are any detrimental effects in operating a boiler at a low TDS with regards to corrosion and fouling. (Besides the loss of energy due to wastage)
Due to an improvement in the feed water quality, we are operating our 31 Bar boiler drum at 50 PPM TDS while we were previously operating them at 500 PPM. We still maintain pH off course, but the alkalinity's have been diluted proportionally as a consequence of the low TDS. We are on a polymer programme. Thank you.
