: I have an air atomizing Industrial combustion MMG22 burner, firing #4 oil.My air & oil pressures are good,pre-heater is working and just had a complete overhaul.Still Every 7-10 days I have to remove carbon from the diffuser.any help is appreciated.

Steve,
Carbon is the product of thermal cracking of your fuel. If this take place at the level of the diffuser something is wrong with time and temperature the fuel is exposed in that area, ore the fuel quality is not according to design. Chreck your combustion air temperature at the burner tip, chape of your flame, fuel quality, firing conditions and check them against design. Contact your burner manufacture.
