As Minnesota’s second largest utility, based on generating capacity, we have a satisfying opportunity for an Assistant Control Room Operator (ACRO). : The successful candidate will be accountable to operate and monitor the boilers of our refuse-derived fuel generating plant in the most efficient and operable manner. The ACRO is expected to proficiently respond to events, make effective decisions, and direct others during routine and emergency conditions; operate and monitor air quality control systems to ensure environmental compliance; and communicate information about plant operation, equipment problems or malfunctions and other abnormalities to other team members. : The ideal candidate will possess an AA in power plant technology or power process training, or equivalent education and a minimum five years solid fuel fired electrical generating power plant experience. Prior control room operator experience is preferred. A current MN Second Class “B” Engineer License and the ability to obtain a Municipal Waste Combustor certification within 6 months of hire are required.
