High school graduate. 3 years of operation and maintenance experience in high pressure boilers and associated auxiliary support equipment. Requires a Stationary Engineerís license obtained through a recognized city or state testing program; or must obtain within 6 months of employment (condition of employment). Maintain current driverís license; must be at least 21 years of age, with no more than 3 moving violations or accidents in the past 3 years due to insurance carrier requirements. Basic computer skills; fundamentals of Building Automation Systems (BAS). Proper use and care of tools, commercial HVAC distribution systems, basic fundamentals of central plant water chemistry, solid knowledge of aligning and shifting between boiler gas and oil fuel systems. Knowledgeable in the operation of emergency power generators & electrical distribution system. Solid understanding in the automatic and manual operation of equipment local and remote control systems. knowledge of chiller and cooling tower operations, maintenance, and repairs. Solid knowledge in the safe start-up and shut down of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and all associated auxiliary equipment.
