Job Description:
The Performance Engineer must be detailed oriented, have exceptional organizational skills, & able to handle multi task projects. Ideal candidates must also have excellent problem solving skills, be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision. You will analyze, document, & write reports to support the company's products. (Research &Development will be in the area of heat transfer, statistics, thermodynamics, & fluid mechanics)
Candidates must possess the capacity to effectively deal with customers on a daily basis and be able to take the initiative to obtain answers. (Previous experience with a Boiler OEM or a power plant in the Utility or Pulp and Paper Industries is a plus.)
Requirements:
-1 to 4 years experience with fossil fueled boilers and/or pulp/paper mill recovery boiler operations is ideal
-Microsoft SQL, PLC-ControlLogic programming, & HMI softwares such as Wonderware or RSView is preferred.
-Ability to travel as needed, 20 to 30%
-Excellent writing skills with appropriate knowledge of technical engineering terms.
-College coursework in basic power generation, thermodynamics, statistics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics will be considered in lue of experience.
-Knowledge of technical data, excel spreadsheet (knowledge of VBA is an asset), basic statistical, and mathematical analysis (knowledge of Matlab is a plus).
Education/Qualifications:
-BS degreed in Mechanical or Chemical Engineer required.
-Fluent in written and spoken English
