Ausra develops and deploys utility-scale solar technologies to serve global electricity and thermal energy needs in a dependable, market competitive, environmentally responsible manner. Amid growing public demand for clean energy, Ausra offers solar thermal electric power stations that provide large-scale low-cost, reliable, renewable energy. Unlike competing approaches, Ausra's technology is proven, easily manufactured and installed, and scalable to high volume.

Responsibilities:

-Applies diversified knowledge of quality engineering practices, and machining and metal forming, to produce and coordinate solutions to complex manufacturing problems.
-Liaison to Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality or throughput issues, and provide technical support.
-Implement the qualification and certification process with suppliers, and monitor their quality systems, and the release and tracking of technical specifications.
-Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing quality systems, or other technical support.
-Establish part-critical characteristics and required process controls, and review tool, fixture, and part design. Train, support and facilitate suppliers in Advanced Product Quality Planning process.
-Significant travel to various suppliers and to Ausra's Las Vegas factory.

Qualifications:

-Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
-At least 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment making metal parts.
-Extensive knowledge of the benefits and limitations of many different component machining and metal forming methods.
-High proficiency in print reading interpretation, part measurement and gage analysis.
-Thorough knowledge of probability, statistical quality control, and design of experiments.
-Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant process, facilities, and equipment.
-Expertise in investigating complex quality problems and applying sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions.
-Ability to perform multiple tasks and ability to effectively manage conflict.
-Highly proficient in oral and written communication.

Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background investigation (motor vehicle record, criminal, education and prior employment).
