•Culture: Laid back, professional but still has that Mom and Pop feel to it.
•Location: Long beach, Ca.


The Lead Boiler Estimator will develop, present and submit a timely, complete and accurate bid package based on a customer’s request for proposal.
Boiler Estimating Functions:
Perform job walks
Develop and manage subcontractor(s) bid packages, review drawings and specifications for completeness and request additional information as required
Solicit and prepare RFQ’s, review and make subcontractor recommendation
Perform detailed labor and materials takeoffs
•Material to management quotes and vendor recommendations
•Present to management a detailed, accurate and timely cost estimate
•Perform cost breakdowns as required
•Prepare documents and proposal as required
•Bid conditioning as required
•Create initial cost coded budgets
•Create initial schedules with resource loading
•Develop equipment needs

Lead Boiler Estimator Project Functions:
•Complete job start sheet
•Finalize cost coded budget
•Compare weekly cost updates estimate vs. actual and advise manager
•Complete initial schedules with resource loading
•Purchase bulk material
•Qualify subcontractors and obtain the proper subcontractor insurance certifications with endorsements
•Write subcontractors as required
•Facilitate job kickoff meetings
•Participate in job closeout meetings
•Perform other activities as requested

•Position is being backfilled due to former Lead Estimator has been promoted to Manager of Power Plant Services (West).
•The ideal candidate MUST HAVE Boiler Overhaul (plan estimate overhaul of boilers) and Boiler Construction (new projects/plants) experience.
•Technical and working with Coal Fired Power Plants experience is a MUST
•The position will report to the Manager of Power Plant Services
•Ideal candidate has to have worked in /on plants (hands on) ranging from 100MW-700MW and must know soup to nuts.
•Ideal candidate has to have worked in an office environment – one of the biggest challenges is not having office experience and working in it and not doing well.
•Client is prepared to go over $110K base for the right candidate, plus up to 20% bonus and relocation.
