Responsible for providing engineering expertise, with minimal supervision, for a 1000 MW combined cycle generating station located in Marian Texas and is active throughout the entire process of project identification, development, and project implementation. Applies sound engineering judgment and knowledge to identify and resolve plant operational problems. Performs unit efficiency/performance testing and makes recommendations to resolve equipment problems. Develops operating and maintenance procedures and provides technical training to other plant personnel. In addition to engineering duties, provides periodic relief for the Control Room Coordinator, Plant Manager of Operations, and Plant Manager of Maintenance. Major Accountabilities: Actively identify and resolve plant operational problems. Provide project management on plant projects and overhauls including contractor interface and oversight. Provide direction and support to the Condition Based Maintenance program in the plant. Perform unit and auxiliary equipment performance/efficiency tests, documents, reports results, and recommends corrective action. Initiate, develop and implement capital and O&M projects, including cost studies. Conduct technical training for plant personnel on equipment and specific operating procedures. Develop plant specific operating and maintenance procedures. Maintain plant engineering and drawing files. Contribute to production of the daily, weekly and monthly plant reports. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology and four years of power generation or related experience.
