Responsible for planning, developing strategy, and providing oversight, governance, and direction for the chemistry systems and all chemistry-related issues across the PSEG Fossil generating fleet.

Provide oversight to ensure that assigned systems are optimally maintained and operated. Serve as fleet-wide system adviser to Station Production Managers, Outage Managers, and Fossil Design Engineers. Work with other System Engineers to ensure compatibility of upstream and downstream systems and address issues concerning system interfaces. Serve as second line of defense to System Sponsors for assigned systems. Work at multiple locations at different types of power plants in both plant and office environments. Assess evolving system technologies for their potential to optimize system economy, reliability, and performance. Work with engineering and design software to optimize assigned systems. Develop and work with engineering specifications, drawings, and other documents for assigned systems.

Work with and direct associates and contract employees with skills, accountabilities, and expertise in the following areas: System design and design engineering, Safety engineering, Quality engineering, Testing & modeling, Performance testing, Document control, Program development, Scope development, Business planning, Outage planning, Resource allocation, Maintenance & operations planning Preventive maintenance, Corrective maintenance, Streamlined reliability centered maintenance, Plant optimization, Root cause analysis, Lessons learned Startup & turnover, Commissioning, System operation, System monitoring, Dispatch profiles and Environmental & permit compliance. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.

Provide direction and oversight to continuously improve operations of the boiler and cooling tower treatment systems, high purity water make-up plants and wastewater treatment plants. Perform chemistry audits at field locations, develop standards, identify improvements, formulate recommendations, and oversee implementation. Strategize, coordinate and supervise the generating fleet boiler chemical cleaning process. Provide technical chemistry support, design and review for the Engineering and Construction Department for new unit construction and station projects. Collaborate with all levels of station management to ensure successful implementation of chemistry programs.

Required:

. BS in appropriate engineering discipline
PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited
by the Council for Higher Education Acccreditation or equivalent.
. 5 years experience in power generation system
engineering
. 5 years experience working on moderate to large
projects
. Experience in plant and system design and technical
support.
