Serve as the subject matter expert and provide governance and oversight for instrument and control systems at PSEG Fossil’s steam, combustion turbine, and combined cycle plants in NJ, NY, CT and TX. Will consider candidates with exceptional I&C experience in manufacturing that have a strong desire to learn power generation industry. Ensure that plant control system design modifications comply with applicable codes and manufacturer recommendations, and update and distribute documentation for any revisions to control system logic or operator graphic displays. Fleet controls systems include ABB Bailey, GE Mark V/VI, and Honeywell.

Responsibilities include the following:
. Governance and oversight of fleet instrument and control system operating and maintenance standards
. Control system troubleshooting assistance to stations
. Assist stations with alarm management and nuisance alarm reduction to enhance operator situational awareness and reduce human error
. Provide technical expertise and guidance during operation, projects and outages
. Perform audits and inspections of equipment and enter notifications when deficiencies are found
. Provide guidance on predictive and preventive maintenance programs to support top quartile performance in availability, reliability, and cost
. Make recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or replacements
. Lead or assist in root cause analysis of station events as assigned
. Provide vendor interface for critical services and projects;Maintain and apply PSEG Fossil Operational Excellence Model standards
. Stay current on industry best practices through attendance and participation in OEM, vendor or user conferences
. Implement best practices across the fleet through peer groups
. Maintain currency with appropriate codes and standards
. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.

Required:

. BS degree in Engineering, Science or Technology or a combination of education and at least 8 years power generation or manufacturing industry experience with minimum of five years directly related to instrument and control design, and plant troubleshooting
PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited
by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
. Experience with SCADA, plant DCS systems, interpreting control logic diagrams, a fundamental knowledge of computer networks, experience in boiler control, burner management, data acquisition, alarm monitoring systems, and be familiar with NFPA 85 code.
. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
. Self-motivated and self-directed
. Flexibility with handling several and changing priorities

Desired:

. PE license, advanced technical degree, six sigma or PMP
. Willingness to work weekend and off normal hours, travel to various plant sites and vendor shops, work in a plant environment, and wear appropriate PPE as required.
