The primary purpose of this position is to support the Guadalupe Generating Station by providing outage work planning & execute unit Planned & Unplanned Outages. Accountable for development of detailed outage plans, outage oversight & governance, cost control, scheduling and close out reporting. Responsibilities also include adherence to the Fossil Outage Management Procedures for Pre-outage Planning, Outage Execution & Closeout, Forced Outage Management, and Outage Control Center Norms. This also includes scope development, work package preparation, work breakdown structure for budgeting & cost tracking purposes, daily status reporting, OCC support, schedule development and implementation, Conducting post outage critique meetings and preparing close out reports. Other critical duties include utilization of outage control tools for tracking purposes; assist in risk assessment, contingency planning, etc. During the implementation phase perform critical path assessment, manage work scope changes, track field changes and analyze task burn down curves. Develop and coordinate short and long-term maintenance schedules with all station departments, Projects and other external resources. Manage the accuracy and completeness of maintenance work history and associated activity cost and compile database to be used for future outage estimates including schedule durations. PRINCIPLE DUTIES: Receives all outage work requests, verifies completeness of all entries, determines appropriate technician, issues work order package, and closes work orders upon completion, Communicates with requester to determine total scope of work and priority of the work to be performed. Maintains status reporting of the outage work order until completion, Identifies resources and materials required to execute the requested work. May verify the availability of those resources prior to scheduling the work or arranges for appropriate alternatives, Acts as a contact/liaison between O&M staff for the planning and scheduling of work performed by O&M site team. Generates and provides management reports for Fossil Outage Management. Estimate job requirements for outage maintenance activities including number/type of O&M staff to be assigned and number of man-hours per task, Attends daily/weekly meetings, Plan of the Day, with facility management to develop outage schedules. Utilizes computerized maintenance management system to manage work orders history and track job status and repair costs, Assists with coordination and recommendation of the use of outside services when outside labor is required to execute jobs, May identify opportunities to improve process, planning or performance through analysis of outage schedules, project demands and expectations, May review utilization and cost data to recommend corrective actions to reduce costs, Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Complies with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards. SECONDARY DUTIES: Performs maintenance on select equipment as required. This is a dual roll with responsibilities for outage planning and technical equipment maintenance, complete work orders as required for technical function area. I.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Etc, Performs maintenance activities within the functional area of qualifications, supporting routine O&M activities as required. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls. REQUIREMENTS: Required three to five year's progressive experience in scheduling/planning activities and strong technical leadership roll. BS Degree in Engineering/Management is a plus, Knowledge of craft function areas for power generation, and engineering or comparable industry experience required. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for related fields is a plus, Must have excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills, Must have good organizational skills, Must have knowledge of scheduling software and utilization of PC based systems, PC skills, formal training in work management systems and processes. Must provide positive influence to the management team.
