Engineer - Thermal Performance / Process Automation

This is an exciting opportunity for one or more qualified performance engineers to join our clients challenging and highly motivated engineering teams in the utility electric power generation market. Market Experience:
• 2 – 10 (or more) years in industrial fossil-fired utility power generation systems or related technology fields. (Associate to Sr. Engineer levels)
Education:
• Minimum B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, and/or Electrical Engineering; (MS, or PhD levels also desired).

Recent direct experience or extensive knowledge with 4 or more of the following:
• Fossil-fired Power Plant thermal performance analysis and testing;
• Troubleshooting power plant equipment and systems;
• Analysis of power cycles and processes using economic models;
• Combustion Optimization (e.g.: for FEGT, Emissions, or efficiency);
• Heat Rate Optimization (e.g. Rankin, Steam Generator, Turbine, Reheat, Cooling);
• Boiler performance monitoring, testing and tuning;
• Rankin Cycle monitoring, testing and tuning;
• Burner performance and tuning;
• Fuel lines/ coal pulverizer performance and tuning;
• Advanced process control software or neural network software implementation;
• Performance monitoring software and data systems;
• Computer modeling systems;
• Power plant control systems, integration, and data historians (e.g. PI, InSQL, etc.);
• Fuels and fuel handling systems (e.g: coal – PRB, Bit., Lignite);
• Post combustion equipment and processes (SCR, ESP, FGD, ASH Handling);
• Windows based application software (MS Office and technical applications).

Desired Skills:
• Technical skills based on the experience described herein;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong Computer Skills and general automation knowledge;
• Project management skills for budgeting, scheduling, time tracking, and reporting;
• Good problem solving plus quality control skills;
• Good moral character and ability to effectively and professionally handle conflicts;
• Must be able to work independently or in teams with: 3rd party companies and agencies; sales and marketing; customers; vendors; and suppliers.

Physical requirements:
• Must be able to drive a car and must have valid drivers license in U.S;
• Activities involved with traveling (ground and air);
• Walk, crouch, climb stairs and ladders;
• Lift, carry, and manipulate objects (~10-20 pounds).

Relocation and Travel:
• Domestic and some International travel as required (50-70%);
• Must be willing to relocate to be based from one of the following office locations: Colorado, New England, Ohio, Illinois, or Texas. (exact locations provided if qualified and interested)
