Come work for GE's fastest growing business! GE Nuclear Energy (GENE) provides technology-based products and services for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) and Advanced BWR (ABWR) nuclear power plants. GENE is seeking a Maintenance Engineer, job #534936, for our Wilmington, North Carolina headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the day-to-day trouble shooting and repair of plant equipment in a nuclear fuel manufacturing facility. The team will look to you for the timely repair of any breakdowns in the plant equipment. You will be counted on for your technical problem solving, spare part management and equipment priority decisions.

You will need mechanical and electrical abilities when troubleshooting the system.You will also be responsible for the procurement of spare parts for maintenance activities and creating and verifying the spare parts lists for new and existing equipment. You will need to leverage your technical writing experience while maintaining maintenance procedures and work order instructions.

In this role, you will interact with the shop maintenance personnel for technical support in electrical, mechanical, controls and instrumentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
In order to be considered for this challenging role, you must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear. You must have demonstrated strong project management skills and success working in cross-functional teams. You must have at least one year experience in a manufacturing environment. You must have experience with maintenance planning/parts software (Maximo, for example). You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, a working knowledge of AutoCAD and knowledgeable of the requirements OSHA. You must have solid technical, analytical, and diagnostic skills.

Desired:
Traits which are desired are: experience with hazardous chemicals, experience in the nuclear industry, Green Belt certification--required for current GENE exempt or within one year for others (hourly-non GENE).
