I like and use the larger square gauges for readability. The small round tridicators seem more prone to failure, though many more last than fail. The problem is to be able to insert the larger probes into the wells or boiler. It is often simpler to replace with the factory-recommended tridicator; but add another larger in a piping fixture in the boiler outlet in addition.
