Hi,
I just bought a house with a hydro-air system.
I am not a fan of hot air systems but I am not going to replace it any time soon.
There is a Buderus cast iron boiler in the basement and a heat exchanger/fan in the attic.
It shares the duct work with the AC.
The first question is generic, how efficient are systems like this in general?
Is it just cheaper to install?
The second question is more direct.
The system controller is an Invensys Erie WA300.
Can I add a purely hydronic loop with this controller?
A portion of the house is not heated and I do not want to use hot air.
The controller has 2 zones, one of which is unused.
The termainals are listed as follows:
C 24 VAC common
R 24 VAC hot
W Heat switched leg
Y Cool switched leg
G Fan switched leg
Is it as simple as connecting a 2 wire t-stat to the R and W terminals to control the boiler and ignoring the cooling and fan terminals?

Thank you,
