: Heat pro I have 2 forced air hanging furnaces in my shop. I only use 1 of them, it heats the place fine. My question is the one that is not being used could there be heat escaping thru the furnace and out the venting pipe? If so could that be a lot? It is 8 inch vent pipe.
++ heat could be lost if there is a fan forcing air in or out of the building; otherwise, not much heat goes out the exhaust vent by gravity alone as there isn't much heat difference. But, every little bit helps on the bottom line, so caulking and shutting up holes will help save.
