Read the paragraph on Page 11 of your reference above called Water connections and system piping. It tells of the vibration or hum that will happen when there is insufficient flow through the small tube heat exchangers.

When you get insufficient flow, the water flashes quickly back and forth between water to steam to make the noise as a hum. As the water flow drops, less heat is taken from the flame, so the rest goes up the flue to be wasted, so the bill goes up. A clog can then burn the tubes.

The boiler can but put in a constant flame input; but zones cut the water flow only enough to serve each zone that is open compounding the problem. Some other tricks need to be done on such a boiler to allow it to flow fully, yet remain a zoned system. Read this reference:
