So having the boiler cycle approx 15% longer each time is not a consideration? Is the quality of my steam better to off-set this longer burn?
I haven't had time to take notice if there is any diff.
It wouldn't take much to lower the water level but after paying $ for the additives...I want opinions on the longer cycles/cost to operate.
One thing to add, we have a 'tankless-coil' hot-water unit attached to same boiler.

: : It all depends on the amount of space above the water in the steam drum and the steaming input rate. If there are no bangs from water being thrown up into the main from the reduced boiler steam head space, then all is OK, otherwise ... banging isn't a good thing.
