Yes that has to be the answer, I need a bigger expansion tank. I had posted a response to John, before seeing yours. I think the questions I posted, will be solved with your answer 2). If I had a bigger expansion tank to accomodate more hot water coming into the system!. Does that make sense HeatPro?
I think I needlessly changed a perfectly functioning expansion tank.

: : 1) The section says that the MANUFACTURER says to close it. Take your pick as to who to listen to.
: : 2) In both cases, yours and John's below, a system gong over 25 psig is due to having an expansion tank smaller than necessary. As in this site:

: you can add another expansion tank or a larger one to the system to prevent it.

: John below is disappointed because he demands answers that fit his preconceived notions.
