Install the expansion tank in the place on the Installation and Operation manual drawings where Takagi shows them. They didn't draw that for artistic merit; but to keep you away from this trouble, as did Amtrol in THEIR drawings.
: (2) is there a need for pressure reducing valve. The city pressure is about 40 psi at the main control valve of the house.
No ... 40 psig is usually the pressure in city-water houses.
