ELECTRONIC MODULATION

ELIWELL EWTR 910

This is a micro-processor based, fully programmable process controller which provides a modulating signal for a damper motor which is used to drive a butterfly valve and it incorporates a relay which is used to cycle the ignition control.

Raypak utilises this type of control where basic modulation is required. The standard programming is:

Set point 82 Deg C.

Modulation Starts at 65 Deg C.

Low Fire at 80 Deg C.

To operate the device outside of the standard program, it will be necessary to change some values.

With power supplied to the device, the Red digital display will indicate the water temperature in the boiler.

If the control is calling for heat then the output light will be illuminated.

To check the set point, press and hold the set button and the display will indicate the set point.

To change the set point, press and hold the set button and then press the up or down arrow as desired.

IMPORTANT! YOU MAY HAVE TO CHANGE THE MODULATION START and LOW FIRE SETTINGS if the set point is changed more than 5 Deg C. from standard.

PARAMETER PROGRAMMING.

To access the programming press and hold “prg”, then press and hold the concealed button (directly below “prg”) and press and hold the “set” button, all at the same time.

The display will change to the first parameter with the output light flashing to indicate programming mode.

Select the desired parameter by pressing the “up” or “down” arrow button and then by pressing the “set” button, the actual setting of the parameter is displayed.

To change this setting, press the “set” button and hold, then the “up” or “down” arrow button.

To exit the programming, push the “prg” and “concealed button”.

There may be installations where the water temperature may not be achieved or may overshoot the set point, which may require changes to the modulation start and low fire settings.

Only suitably authorised and experienced persons should attempt any adjustments to Raypak boilers and equipment.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE CONTROL BE PROGRAMMED CORRECTLY, IF THERE IS ANY CONFUSION, IT IS VITAL THAT RAYPAK BE CONSULTED.

ERROR ANNUNCIATION

Any water sensor defect will be displayed as follows:

“-” Indicates shorted sensor (dead short)

“EEE” indicates open circuit or out of range.

It is suggested that the sensor wiring and connections be thoroughly checked before diagnosing a probe as defective.

THERMOSTATS -MODULATING TYPE CONTROLS

This type of control will cycle the burner from “Full Fire to 20 % and then Off”at the set point.

Set the control to the desired temperature required and it will control the firing rates.

ADJUSTMENTS OR SERVICING OF THESE TYPES OF CONTROLS REQUIRES INFORMATION SUPPLIED BY RAYPAK ON REQUEST ONLY.
