I have a Glow Worm Energy Saver 60 Condensing boiler.

Recently it started to leak.

Upon investigation I noticed that when the burner cuts off, a small amount of water starts to drip at the rear on the right hand side behind the burner. When the burner starts again, the leaks stops and any water is burnt off. When the burner stops again, it starts to seap again. I took the black hose out of the condense trap and nothing seems to be coming out of that pipe, not even when its running or stopped. I have called a plumber out and he has told me i need a new Primary heat exchanger. I dont know if this correct because the water only seaps out when the burner is not running.
My question is,
What could be wrong?
Could the leak be condensation and its blocked somewhere?
Or do i really need a new Heater exchange fitting at a cost of £600 !!!

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
