: Is there any warranty issues or problems like shortening the water heaters life (or anything else) by keeping the temp. at 160 degrees?

If there are, the indirect water heater company should get out of business; many indirect water heaters are rated at the ability to heat water at 170F inlet. The Alliance shows outflow ratings at 140F, and the T&P is 200F. There is an expectation that the maximum water temp shouldn't be over 200F, or they'd put a lower temperature T&P to limit that. Also, if the heater wasn't to be run over 140F, the thermostat wouldn't be allowed at 160F.
