Hi George,

Thanks for replying. I'm not sure how high they filled it. They said that it was steaming and sizzling out of the top, so I actually got a 2nd plumber to come out and confirm that it is cracked and it unfortunately is.

Now I need to look at getting a new boiler. One plumber suggests Utica. Anyone know anything about them? PEG150C is the model.

Thanks again,
Dave

: I also drain the waist water every 2 weeks or so.
: I check the low water cut off by having the
: furnace run while I open the waist valve into
: a bucket. The water level drops quickly
: even though the boiler is not empt and
: the burner shuts off.

: Do you know how high he let the water go
: before you saw a leak?
: I had the occasion to forget to shut the
: filler completely and a few hours later the
: radiators were getting full.
: It may be there is a bleader on the boiler
: that is leaking.
