Very informative site..
Old boiler system (steam single pipe rads) I am getting a fould odor coming from the vents. Smells like a rusty, slightly pungent odor. I flushed boiler water two times and each time received a nice dose of rusty water.
One thing...the manual fill line on the lower part of boiler, where it enters the actual boiler is rusted. Could this be the cause of the odor problem, whereas, I re-fill the system with fresh H2O and it has to go through this pipe and maybe is being contaminated again with the odor?
