: First establish the cost of heating a 5000 sq ft house with wood and establish that the wood is available at a reasonable cost. The neighbors might not be happy if you stripped the neighborhood of the woods in a few years and turned the area into a smoky haze.

-- My question is not whether I should, but does anyone know of a unit that is designed for such an application...I have spoken to many manufactures of wood boilers but they are not designed to operate with single pipe radiant steam heat. my system is a low 15 psi and I would love to find a wood boiler to either supplement or use as a main unit. anyone with info please reply
