I have a weil-mclain model he-4 gas heater for hot water as well as baseboard heat. it is in a pretty small room that gets very hot....even in the winter. If I leave the door open it is like having a heated garage all year long. I thought the boiler would only run when there was a need. such as the heat is on or someone is running hot water. It seems to me that the boiler will fire up at odd times (odd but consistent as well)and run even though there should be no call for it. Is there something wrong? also, I thought forced hot water heat was supposed to be very efficient. I just bought this house and am not familiar with this type of heating system. Does this seem at all normal? Thanks in advance to any answers I get.
