The stone wall foundation also allows
water seepage in the spring. I have
been putting a mortor finish in the worst
area which seems to help.
In the upstairs rooms that I am refinishing I am
taking off the plaster and lathe and installing
cripple 2x3's and 4" insulation before sheetrock.
I am a few winters from finishing the downstairs
rooms and thought the basement ceiling would be an easy reach.
