If you have a properly sized modulating/condensing gas boiler, there might be no need for buffering. The boiler will high fire when the indirect calls, and modulate to meet the heat loss of the air handlers. You should only need 120K on the coldest of days. Of course if the boiler only modulates down to 40K and only 1 zone is calling on a warm day, you might still short cycle. To cure this you need a buffer with some primary/secondary piping and multiple zone pumps. I'd rather get a boiler with the widest modulating range.
