If you are using a tube-type boiler that has a significant pressure drop, yes. Doing so will allow the pressure-drop through the boiler to be from a higher fill-pressure start than if pumping away from the boiler.

The primary-loop drawing in the article about preventing sizzling would have little difference when pumping-away from the expansion tank on either side of the boiler unless the boiler has some significant flow resistance due to small tubing.
