I have recently had a condensing boiler fitted and noticed that the boiler fires-up when a WC is flushed and on washing hands shortly after hot water flows from the cold tap. I've checked that the cistern is connected to the cold water supply and that taps are plumbed correctly.
The service engineer suggested I may have a "dead leg" in the system with trapped air that expands and contracts to fool the boiler into detecting a flow. However, he could not explain why hot water flows from cold tap - Any ideas
