Thanks for the info and the reinforcement of "needing to do it right". I'll call a local service place. Here is another quick question:

I've lived in the house the last two years and have had the same place do annual cleaning/maintenance on it that the previous owners did. I'm happy with the service - my question is "is it standard practice to use a test kit on a boiler every year"? The tech seems to have the opinion that there is no need to recalibrate if it is working - just clean, replace nozzle and filter, and let it ride. Like I said it's worked great up until this point so I can't really debunk that theory - just wondered if that is something I ask for every year to keep it up to snuff or do they usually not need adjustements annually?
