My brother has a question regarding his heating system that he asked me to check with you. He is zone out every room in his house - two on first floor, three on second floor, and large attic space. He wants to pipe it like European 2 pipe system, but doesn't want to put zone valves at basement ceiling branch risers or at radiators. He wants to install two 1-1/4 x 1/2" copper manifolds with 5 ports for each manifold - one for supply and one for return, and install them and the zone valves in boiler room. He wants to install 1/2" piping from the supply manifold to the radiator and back down to the return manifold. He wants to know if 1/2" is OK for the third story (approximately 20 BTU in large attic room) and the lenght of run is approximately 210 feet.
