I have been reading these threads because I also wish to convert my steam to zoned hot water system. I have a 4 family house, 2 apts on each floor. My old wall outlets are about 8" from floor so baseboard is no good. The only way to really pipe the second floor radiators is by going up and down for each radiator (no baseboard) back down to the basement. The prices for the contractors are too high and my husband said he would do the work. If I make two zones for each apt could I still use zone valves. Can the zone valves be put next to the radiators two stories up from the circulator. will it work that way
