Heat went out over the weekend. The Bell & Gossett circulator pump was making all kinds of racket. Today I purchased a new pump and removed the old one. When I removed the old pump I turned the system on to double check that it was non functional, and what do you know, the thing works. Impeller rotates with no sign of distress.

The boiler fires, the zone valves operate. The piping in the immediate area of the boiler get hot, but don't get hot much past that. During normal operation I can hear the sounds of hot water moving through the pipes throughout the house but have not since the system stopped functioning properly. This coupled with the odd noise from the pump led me to believe that the pump had gone out. Since this is obviously not the case I'm not sure where else to look.

I've purged the system a few times (had to replace the bottom relief valve as well) so I'm fairly certain that there isn't anything blocking the water flow.

Now I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?
