: any idea why my boiler is not heating my hot water? It heats the radiators ok, the lights come on on the timers to say it should be heating the water, and everything looks ok and was last checked by enginier 18 months ago.

: thanks in advance for any info

You don't describe your CH system fully, but if it has electrically motorised valves somewhere near the hot water tank, it's possible that the one which permits heated water from the boiler into your hot tank has packed up. The electrical head is usually held on by two screws and so it's easy to take the top off, switch the heating system to "hot water only", and see if the actuator turns. If it doesn't, you need another valve. Last time I bought one, it was about £35 from a plumbing supplier.
