I have a Weil- Mclain unit and the temp setting on the control is set at 180 degrees. I have always checked my gauges on the side of this unit and the temp ranges from 160 to 180 degrees and the pressure around 14-15 psi with never any problems. This morning, I heard some gurgling sounds coming from the boiler and checked the gauge and the water temp was at 220+ degrees and the pressure was at 15 psi. The system has 5 Taco zone valves with one used for the hot water heater and the other 4 controlled by 4 thermostats in various locations in my 2 story house. There is a Bell & Gossett pressure reducing valve and B&G NRF-22 circ pump. The Amtrol Extrol expansion tank pressure checks at 12-13 psi with a Honeywell auto air vent mounted above it on the Honeywell cast iron air purger. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
