An L8148A is NOT a high/low aquastat. The dial sets the high limit and it has a 15F fixed subtractive differential. It is an aquastat relay with a high limit inside. You DON'T get it to shut off at 180F and come on at 160F unless you add ANOTHER control to it to make it do that. There is no useful reason to have it do so. If you want a single control to do that, install an 8124G or L.
