+++ Depends upon how much extra heating surface is effective - it remains unknown until the designer can give the word.

6" wc is an unusual setting. 4" was the older usual setting. 3/5" more often newer heaters. You can track the results on the gas meter again.

That should be all you need unless the orifice became worn and is causing improper burner injection.
