Hi Heatpro, I hope you can help me out with this. I bought a used hanging forced air furnace that was in excellent condition inside and out. But it had a standing pilot. I bought a honeywell retro fit kit to put in an electronic pilot. It has a honeywell gas valve #vr8440p2088 and a control module #s8600m. The instruction label tells me to put the wires from module like this- MV to TH and MV/PV to TR and PV to TH-TR. I started up the unit; it heats up nice. The fan then kicks on like it should, but just to try it, I set heat at 48deg. The burners wont shut off, it keeps heating. No place in the instructions does it tell me where to hook up the thermostat wires to what terminals on gas valve. Also I then disconnected the thermostat wires just to see how the unit would run. It still starts up nice and starts heating. It acts the same way with a thermostat on it or not. That is why I think I have a wire misplaced that hooks up the thermostat to gas valve. What do you think? Where do the thermostat wires go to on the gas valve? Are there any tips you can give me? What does it sound like to you? Thanks again.
