New Boiler

We need to replace an old boiler and my HVAC man quoted me two models: Buderus 97% (which means a great deal of new plumbing due to venting) or the Burham 82.3% which means we can use existing plumbing. The cost is almost double for the Buderus ($11,200 vs. $6250), which both sound outrageous to me. The units are about 100000 btu.

Is it better to go with the less efficient model as it seems to me even with gas prices so high it would take me forever to make up the difference. Also we are getting two other estimates, but this is the first one so far.
