Can't keep the pilot light on my boiler on

I have recently been having problems with my gas fired combi boiler (Worcester 9.24 is the model). Before Christmas the pilot light went out and I couldn't restart it again. I called a plumber out and he changed the thermocouple and restarted it and everything seemed fine until recently.

This morning the pilot light went out again and I got it started on the first attempt but when I was halfway through a shower, it went out again and I couldn't get it relit. I called the same engineer who said that the gas valve needed replacing. I called a second engineer for another opinion and he said that it might be a problem with the ignition coil.

Does anybody know what is causing this problem, and more importantly, how much this is going to cost to fix? I've had two different causes and two different costs given now!

Thanks.
