There actually is a simple valve between the cold water pipe that goes into the boiler and the hot water pipe that exits the boiler. The pipes are in an "H" formation with the valve in the horizontal part of the H. But the valve is shut off. So you are saying to just turn up the DHW water temp to 180 on the aquastat and open that valve some? It does look kind of corroded.
