A spirovent is to eleiminate air and would do so more effectively on top of a big air scoop like the tank.

You can pipe either way of the two suggestions - your choice.

A flowcheck in the 0010 is a good idea.

The boiler is isolated from the system in either piping.

The boiler pump can run at any time without interfering with the zones in either suggestion. There isn't much resistance to flow in a 2-inch return line tee and there is no director at the intersection to divert water.
