I have a crown oil-fired odv hot water system. with 4 zone valves. The circulator runs continuosly even when there is no call for heat. When there is no call for heat, the water has no place to circulate. Does this negatively affect the circulator. It has begun making a loud rattling noise that can be heard in some parts of the house. Also, since this is constantly running, isn't this causing ghost heating of the radiators since the zone valves are on the returns.

One last question, should I have a loop back system so that the water can just reciculate when ther is no call for heat?
