+No, the tank would be part of the primary loop, as the boiler needs the extra mass of water on demand through the buffer tank whenever the boiler burner and its primary circulator start. The primary loop circulator would pump into the buffer tank and the tank would feed the location where the primary circulator now attaches.

The coil inside the tank would feed the indirect you have already to preheat the water and save some energy that way (also cool the buffer tank some so the boiler has some mass to heat. Insulate the buffer tank by wrapping it to lose no energy to the boiler room.
