I guess you're conveting to hot water. You're right, water in a closed system becomes "dead", all the O2 driven out as long as there's no leaks and make up water keeps comming in. Cast iron rads or BB produces more even heat and less noise. If you over radiate, you can run at a lower overall temp on the boiler saving fuel. If you use gas or LP, get a condensing boiler.
