: many steam boilers have a tankless coil to heat domestic water. The boilers kept at around 160-180 degrees all year round. But when you start using steam the cooled condensate returns to cool the boiler down so yo might notice cooler hot water. The aquastat might be set too low and you need a higher min temp in the boiler durring heating season. Also make sure there's enough water in the boiler.

You should have a triple acting aquastat that reverts priority to the DHW in a situation when both are needed.
